Yesterday my family took a trip to Boston to drop off two paintings for a group show in a membership gallery I just joined, TAG Boston. It is part of The New England Art Center and run by a dynamic woman named Claudia Fiks who I am eager to get to know more.
The gallery is going to have a lot of opportunities to meet other artists and curators. I might be doing another demo event coming up, part of my slow journey into possibly teaching workshops. (I'm not feeling quite ready yet!)
Claudia told me yesterday that the gallery's website is up and running and so is the page on Artsy. I just checked it out, and I was surprised at how exciting it is to see my name and paintings (just two right now) on Artsy with my birth year under my name. Like a real artist! I know, I have been a "real" artist for a long time, but imposter syndrome is a real thing and is my constant companion.
So there we are. I will slowly add work to the Artsy site as I show more at TAG.
I really want to go there for the events, but its 2.5 hours to Boston and I am terrified of driving on that huge aggressive highway! I'm going to figure out the train system and become an expert at navigating there that way. Also I'm going to look for a good AirBnB that isn't too expensive in the SoWa area, so I can do evening events without worrying about coming back on the train at night.
If you have any recommendations for an AirBnB you have used in the area or a good, non-scary route to get into Boston, please let me know!
